More EBay Power Seller Product Sourcing Secrets
For product sourcing tips, jump to the end of the article. In an earlier article on eBay power seller source tips, we pointed out that,
“There are a multitude of sources for where “power sellers” are buying their products. Just like any other retailer or reseller, many othese companies and individuals have arrangements with wholesalerwhich enables them to purchase things at cost and mark them up. Others have sources for factory seconds and refurbished items. Still others use dropshipping tactics to eliminate warehousing and other costs.”
When talking about how and where eBay power sellers get their products, it isn’t as if there is a secret warehouse that opens up to a special power seller password. There are, however, some techniques and trade-craft that successful sellers have at hand. To distill this down to a somewhat oversimplified model, this involves knowing what to sell and buying it as cheaply as possible. Ideally, the power seller wants to purchase cheaper than anyone else.
It is also very important to understand that in our–or my–opinion, eBay is not a retail selling environment (prices on eBay are already generally at or below wholesale).
One of the best ways I think to access the numbers of product sources you may be intersted in is to purchase a professionally compiled *directory* of drop shipping manufacturers. These people have spent thousands and thousands of hours collecting sources that you or I could never find ourselves. Of course, after all that work, they are
not going to give away this information for free. The trick is to try to find a relatively inexpensive, honest company that provides sources to wholesalers, dropshippers, and liquidation and closeout product distributors.
Anyway, our research has turned up a few sources to help give you a more competitive edge on eBay:
Company: National Mail Order Association
Directory: Directory of American Drop-Shippers
Details: “The mission of the NMOA is to keep accurate and updated
information ready for you to use without the endless hours of looking
for companies that are legitimate and proven professionals. The
Directory of American Drop-Shippers provides you with access to over
275,000 top quality products, from brand name to the hard-to-find.”
Cost: $69.95

In our opinion, you may be able to cut to the chase faster by looking into an online product sourcing directory. If interested, take a video tour of our recommendation right here!.
