New News on Chinese Suppliers

I wanted to take a minute and bring attention to the Sunday Ny Times of July 1. That’s right, July 1. I’m a little behind in my reading. However, the front page article “Comanies In US Increase Testing Of Chinese Goods” is worth reading.

The article seems to concern mostly consumable items, so this might seem to be of small concern in you sell teddy bears. However, Chinese goods are coming under scrutiny by American big business and, of course, big government.

The lead sentence starts, “General Mills, Kellogg, Toys “R” Us and other big American companies are increasing their scrutiny of thousands of everyday products they receive from Chinese supliers, as widenting recalls of items like toys and toothpase fore them to focus on potential hazards theat were overlooked in the past.”

If you are new to using Chinese suppliers, take heed and be caustious. This isn’t a warning to stay away, but we don’t want you to lose your shirt. Just learn the lay of the land, as it were. If you are reading this and saying to yoruself, ‘Duhhhhh!!!” be aware that many people lose their shirt every day by taking the simplest things for granted.

There is undoubtedly big money to be made using Chinese supplier, but you have got to do the research. Remember, the Internet is no more than a distribution tool. A magnificent distribution too, to be sure, but only a tool, and like any tool, you must do the research and survive the learning curve to make it sing for you like Brazillian song bird.
