Secret Wholesale Forum

Is there, in fact, a secret wholesale forum?

You are here because you want to know the wholesale forum secret that will reveal low cost product distributors for:

  • goods to sell at flea markets
  • on eBay, through Craigslist
  • other online classifieds
  • and through your own ecommerce sites.
  • Keep in mind that this may cost you some money. In Internet marketing, secrets are never traded away cheaply. However, I will tell you what I can for free.

The best forum for developing contacts in the wholesale industry and among drop ship companies will be the live forum of human exchange that occurs at trade shows and exhibitions. There are simply no two ways about it. That is where and how you develop in the shortest possible time your most reliable contacts. This is also how you stay on the cutting edge of the wholesale industry for your line of products. This, right here, is a profound wholesale forum secret.

To get an idea of just how important this is and to give you product ideas, check out this online trade show directory:

    Business Access Online

Not all of us can pick up and go to trade shows, however, especially if we are just starting out or may not even have a state sales tax permit, or are just simply trying to figure out if selling physical goods is something we want to do. In that case, your online resources become even more relevant. If you can’t get to trade shows, forums are where your fluid and up-to-date exchange of information among real people takes place. There is a forum that I think is a well kept secret, and only a very few people understand its true value. In my opinion, the Salehoo forum has a great deal to offer.

There may be a few private forums set up by individual marketers that are not broadly publicized, but keep in mind that anyone can set up a forum and that not all forums are public–that is, some are available only through paid memberships. The more exclusive the membership the harder it will probably be to know about it. “Private” does not necessarily mean a “secret.” Also, keep in mind that the terms “private” and “secret” have been co-opted by marketers as a means of causing you to feel that there is something you don’t know about. When you receive email telling you about some secret membership and begging you not to tell, usually the whole point is to get you to tell as many people as possible.

Now, there are some very solid wholesale, dropship, liquidation and closeout resources online. However, it is probably the case–again, in my opinion–that you will develop your best list by attending the major trade shows because that is where and how you’ll personally meet the manufacturers and distributors and create your network of insider contacts.

The fact of the matter is, if you are trying to figure out whether or not selling goods online (or off) is going to be a viable business for you, you are going to have to do the research. If you are serious about the research, you will need to figure out how much time and money you want to spend on research. Even a thousand dollars is not much if we are serious about long term planning.

So there you have it. My thoughts on the “secret wholesale forum” question.

By the way, here is something extra,

Have you every noticed some eBay sellers seems to sell at rock bottom prices and you wonder how they can do it and make a profit? There are a number of ways this can occur. First, successful power sellers have the money to buy large, bulk lots of liquidated stock. By large, I mean by the truckload. Thus, someone might bring the per piece price of a dvd player to $25 or $30, or less. Second, the successful sellers have the money to buy large lots of an item from a wholesale distributor such as DBL or WYNIT at a much lower fixed per unit price. A slightly more “blackhat” method is purchasing an item from an authorized dealer at the price the dealer paid. This is usually only possible if you have a close contact with a dealer willing to sell you items under the table. So, for example, if you have such a contact with a licensed Rolex dealer, someone who purchases Rolex watches in bulk at the closely guarded dealer prices, then you would have a source for relatively low cost Rolex watches.

By the way, one of the Salehoo managers has recently set up an auxiliary business to make available exclusive access to high quality brandname liquidated stock in small bulk lots. You can read more about that in our product sourcing scoop post.

The Salehoo membership and forum allow a means of information not normally available to the public. Feel free to sign up for a free newsletter or take a free video tour.

I am in need of 10 different pokemon figures. I am missing Pupitar, Pineco, Snover, Azelf, Golem, Ralts, Claydol, Aron, Zapdos, and Budew. I was thinking about buying a collection from this LDU Company in China but I really don’t need 288 pokemon figures, and that is the smallest collection that I see them listing on their website http://www.LDUcompany.com

I am trying to find a place to buy just the ten that I need. Has anyone ever bought pokemon characters from this LDU website? Oh yeah, here is a link to the page with all the pokemons http://www.liangdianup.com/pokemons_1.htm

Any ideas please post and let me know :)

I’m really sorry, Pokemon isn’t really my area. To tell you the truth, this sounds like something eBay is ideal for. I imagine you’ve already checked, but if not, look for these figures there. If you want to drop me a line through my contact page above, I can check with my one and only Pokemon contact. Can’t make any promises, though.

how to wholesale, i want to wholesale but have not fund the wholesale list website, and don’t know how to search buyer.

Hi. If you click on the blue hyperlink that says “Salehoo,” that will take you to the Salehoo wholesale directory site.
    Or, try this link: http://www.proproductsourcing.com/salehoo/

Right. Internet marketers are always throwing the word secret around or claiming something is secret just to get people to buy their stuff. Anyway I’ve been doing small scale ecommerce for awhile. Just selling a few products on simple websites. I’d like to get into cell phones and electronics but I don’t know if I could make money.

I think I saw in another comment where you said you’d joined? Salehoo has good leads for electronics. Be sure to check out the forum. Also, if you sell electronics or cell phones, you may want to stay away from eBay.

I am a member of Salehoo and it sucks. The forum is ok but no better than any other
dropshipping forum They have not updated there info in years and we have found more scams and middlemen than anything that Salehoo has given a 5 star rating to
If you are a member there then you know this is true we have been talking about this for weeks if your not you should really check your sources before advertising for them

Hi. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your differing opinion. I am a member, myself, and as I have said numerous times in my posts, I have seen no evidence of fraud. In addition to wholesalers, drop shippers, liquidation and factory sources, Salehoo does list many retail discount products suppliers. These are the companies you may be referring to as middlemen. Being a retail discount supplier is not in itself a scam. Salehoo does not represent retail discount companies as true wholesalers, though from the perspective of a new comer, that might be a confusing point.

I also personally find value in the forum. I am not a member of World Wide Brands so I can’t compare, but I have visited some of the free wholesale forums, and I’ll take the Salehoo forum any day. Speaking for myself, I always find it informative. However, Salehoo isn’t for everyone, and so I can’t say that all people will find it as helpful and interesting as I do. I have also stated as much in my posts.

The issue regarding updates to the listing has been under discussion but only as a relatively minor thread among all the other threads. I’m impressed with how well Salehoo is able to handle criticism within the membership. Overall, the forum is a very positive environment.
