It is no secret that legitimate online and offline home business is pretty much driven by the products you sell. Unless you produce your own products, you need a source.
The first wholesale product tip or “secret” is so fundamental that I’m shocked at how few people are aware of this.
- A true wholesale supplier always requires a state sales tax permit. Many businesses advertise “wholesale” prices, but if they don’t ask for a tax permit, they are not a real wholesaler. That doesn’t mean they aren’t a legitimate business, just that they aren’t a wholesaler in the true sense of the word as defined by law.
The true wholesale agent is required to have proof of this because you will be required charge sales tax on items you sell to residents of your state. The true wholesaler is required by state law in its state of residence to have proof of your tax permit.
Number 2, also important to understand,
- While wholesale prices are generally low, a true wholesale agent can charge or negotiate whatever price they like with you. Experienced, large volume sellers get better prices from wholesalers than inexperienced newcomers.
Generally speaking, you will find some of the lowest prices available through stock liquidators and closeout sellers.
