Low Cost Wholesale Suppliers

The secret to low cost wholesale suppliers . . .

is understanding that a true wholesale business is merely a business licensed as a wholesaler. A real wholesale business purchases goods from manufacturer and then distributes them retail sellers. The retailer has a sales tax permit that allows it to purchase goods from a wholesale distributor without paying sales tax. The sales tax, then, is paid by the customer buying from retailer.

A real wholesale business is free to charge whatever price is sets for its line of goods. It doesn’t matter if the wholesaler charges a zillion times over the price from the manufacturer or a fraction of a percent over the manufacturer’s price. Whatever the price charged by a real wholesale business–one that requires you to show proof of a sales tax permit–that is the wholesale price. Now, market forces generally require the wholesaler to reduce the price so that the retail business can sell at a profit.

My point is that just because a price is “wholesale” doesn’t mean that it is necessarily the lowest price. Low wholesale prices are negotiated between the buyer and the wholesale business. Buyers who are able to purchase in bulk and who purchase often will command the most negotiating power when it comes to prices.

My other point is that with the intense interest in ecommerce and selling products online, there are scads of businesses that use the words “wholesale” and “wholesale prices” to grab your attention. Very often their ads strongly suggest that they are wholesalers, but unless they require proof of a sales tax permit, they are not wholesalers. The question, then, is what sort of business are they? Such businesses might be perfectly legitimate and offer great prices, but they are not true wholesale businesses.

I just wanted to bring this to your attention. This is a question that frequently comes up, and I think this is something you should be aware of.
