Wholesale Distributors, Sellers Permits, and Other Questions

Do wholesale distributors require you to have a sales tax permit . . . ?

This is frequent question, and the answer is that if the wholesale business is real wholesale business, that is, a licensed wholesaler, then yes, you must have a sales tax permit. The sales tax permit allows you to purchase goods from a true wholesaler without paying sales tax.

We think the easiest way to gain access to vast numbers of verified wholesale and dropship distributors is simply to join a reputable membership such as World Wide Brands (One Source) or Salehoo. We happen to be members of Salehoo, are familiar with its service and so recommend it as possible solution to the question of where to find real wholesalers, dropshippers, liquidation-closeout specialists, factory distributors, and other discount product distributors. However, if you see our post Finding wholesale Products to sell Online, we give a number of possiblities. We offer more links to distributors in EBay Power Seller Sourcing Secrets.

Someone recently came to our site asking, “What is Salehoo?” We think we have answered this question in a number of earlier posts, such as The Salehoo Scam Question. However, basically, Salehoo is an online wholesale directory that provides contact information to many different kinds of product distributors. Salehoo is membership site, so there is a once only payment to be made for access, and it offers a members forum for networking and sharing information. Salehoo itself is not a product distributor. However, again, it does provide the means of contacting the businesses who are product distributors.

Finding companies that sell and ship at wholesale prices is another frequent question bringing people to this site. One person from texas recently arrived here with that very question. The weird truth seems to be that there are many, and to really help answer specifically, we need to narrow down the field. However, if you follow the links above, we do provide link access to many wholesale companies. Also, Salehoo, described above, lists thousands of suppliers. It is difficult to know whether or not the resources listed here would work for you since we don’t know what products types or categories you may be interested in.
