The Wholesale Dropship List

Is there a magic bullet wholesale dropship list? No. The answer is no. In fact, all of the hubbub about wholesale dropship lists has a lot to do with eBay and the promotion of eBay as an easy way to profits. Very often you’ll find the wholesale lists promoted as a way to make money on eBay. Don’t tell me there’s not a connection. Not that you can’t make extra money with eBay, but to make it big requires a real business commitment. And here is something else, if you are buying wholesale to sell on eBay, you may have already lost the game (follow the link to find out why).

However, eBay aside. There are many product distributors, some of them wholesalers, some dropshippers, some liquidation-closeout specialists, some just dealing in discount goods, “junk” dealers, there are manufacturers who distribute their own products, and a growing sector of mega warehouse distributors, like Doba and Shopster, taking advantage of the wholesale dropship craze. In fact, in this blog alone, I have probably listed the resources to find at least a thousand, if not more, product distributors. I even talk about some of the dirty secrets of dropshipping. However, it doesn’t really matter how many wholesale dropship product supply sources you find, there is always one more, and the quest for just one more can become addicting.

If you use the search box above to search for megagoods, dmoz, yahoo, you’ll find a lot of them. You might also try a search under, “usual suspects.”

Personally, although I may only use a few sources at a time, I don’t think you can have access to too many. And that is where the online wholesale directories come in. I’m talking about directories such as World Wide Brands, or Salehoo. There is some concern over whether or not these are reliable, legitimate sites. You are right to be cautious, but the two mentioned above are generally well reputed. There is some scam talk about Salehoo, and some worry that the forum might be a scam, but this has largely been generated by one main competitor and some sorry individuals seeking a quick way to click themselves rich overnight. Sorry, selling physical goods online via ecommerce can be sustainable income, but it is not get-rich-quick territory.

There are a number of wholesale dropship questions to consider. One of them–what are the characteristics of a good wholesale dropship supply directory?

Drop Ship Suppliers: These suppliers will send the product directly to your buyer from their warehouse, so that you do not have to store stock on your premises or prepare and package it for shipping.

Wholesale Suppliers: Access to true wholesale suppliers.

Liquidation and Closeout Specialists: Genuine, brand name suppliers for bulk purchasing from some of the top department store liquidators and closeout suppliers. This is where you get below wholesale prices and one of the key ways in which you profit on eBay.

Factory Manufacturers: Able to offer members the lowest prices available right from the factory. However, it is often necessary to buy in bulk.

Suppliers From all over the world.

Suppliers From Asia: Access to factories from countries such as China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Legitimate and Authentic goods.

Brand Name Products: Access to branded, high demand products.

A good online wholesale directory such as Salehoo will provide you with a secure environment in which to network and share information with other members and explore the supplier and product resources. There really isn’t any other way to get this unless you pay for it. Salehoo asks only a relatively low, one-time fee and gives you an eight week, no questions ask full money back guarantee if you change your mind. That’s hard to turn down. If you are serious about your product research, in my opinion, the pocket change for the membership is well worth the cost. You can check out a free video tour, right here.
